Starting 1 March 2025, individuals or entities conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) in Queensland must take proactive steps to prevent workplace discrimination and harassment.
These reforms, the toughest in Australia, require businesses to actively address and prevent discrimination, harassment, and other inappropriate conduct in the workplace.
As per the amendments to the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld), introduced by the Work Health and Safety (Sexual Harassment) Amendment Regulation 2024 (Qld), all PCBUs in Queensland are required to develop a prevention plan to manage risks related to sexual harassment or sex and gender-based harassment at work, protecting workers and others on-site.
