George Sotiris is the Founder and Director of HR in Health, a leading provider of proactive HR solutions and support to the health industry nationwide. With a career spanning over 15 years, George has established himself as a Workplace Relations Specialist dedicated to serving the unique needs of healthcare practices.

Driven by his genuine appreciation for the challenges inherent in healthcare HR management, George founded HR in Health in 2018. Since its inception, the organisation has been committed to empowering practices with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate complex employment issues and build robust systems for fostering better workplaces.

George firmly believes that the success of any practice hinges on strong employment foundations and accountability at every level. By simplifying intricate staffing disputes and offering comprehensive education on HR best practices, George, and his team at HR in Health strive to make a tangible difference in the health industry. 

Vanessa James-McPhee

With a strong background in HR and employment law spanning at least 20 years, Vanessa is well-versed in the unique challenges faced by businesses of all sizes in the Australasian region.

At HR in Health she provides expert guidance to manager’s and owner’s on navigating Australia’s complex workplace regulations, helping practices remain compliant while addressing day-to-day HR matters.

Vanessa’s practical approach ensures HR in Health Members & clients receive tailored advice, whether it’s interpreting workplace legislation, understanding modern awards, or reviewing employment contracts and policies.

Her business insights allow her to quickly assess risks and opportunities, offering strategic and practical solutions.

Kara van der Walt

Kara is a highly accomplished marketing and communications professional with over 20 years of experience across non-profit, healthcare, and private sectors. She has a Certificate IV in Leadership & Management which complements her Bachelor of Social Science in Communications and Public Relations from The University of Queensland.


Kara’s expertise spans strategic marketing, stakeholder engagement, campaign management, and event coordination. In her current role as Marketing Specialist at HR in Health, she supports the digital and strategic objectives to ensure that members have a great UX. 

Her career highlights include leadership roles across various organisations, where she executed impactful strategies, managed campaigns and excelled in member acquisition and customer experience.  

Kara’s strengths include strategic planning, creative production, team leadership, and digital marketing. Her contributions consistently drive growth, build brand visibility, and deliver measurable results.

Natalie Williams

Natalie is a personable and highly capable HR professional with over a decade of experience in dynamic, fast-paced environments. She excels at delivering fit-for-purpose solutions to drive the success of individuals, teams, and businesses.

With a well-rounded background in both operations and human resources management, Natalie brings a pragmatic, relationship-focused approach to her work. She has expertise in partnering with client groups and executives to provide comprehensive HR support across the entire employee lifecycle, and is dedicated to fostering a positive and productive company culture.

Tracey Gardiner

Tracey is a seasoned Registered Nurse with an impressive 28-year career dedicated to healthcare excellence. Throughout her journey, Tracey has specialised in Emergency and Mental Health, demonstrating her commitment to addressing critical healthcare needs.

For the past two decades, Tracey has been at the forefront of patient care in high-risk acute mental health units, where her expertise and compassion have made a significant impact on patient outcomes. Her extensive experience in this demanding environment has equipped her with invaluable insights into managing complex cases and providing effective support to individuals in crisis.

Tracey’s dedication to continuous learning is evident in her academic achievements, including a Graduate Diploma and Master of Mental Health. Moreover, her commitment to ensuring the safety of both patients and healthcare professionals is highlighted by her certification as an instructor in Aggressive Behaviour Management (ABM), holding a Cert IV in the field. She has further extended her expertise by training Queensland Health staff in ABM techniques, contributing to a safer working environment for all.
