This course equips clinical staff in general practice and specialist settings with the knowledge and confidence to recognise and respond to patients at risk of suicide. It covers risk factors, warning signs and practical strategies for managing suicidal patients both over the phone and in person.
Through structured guidance and real-world scenarios, participants will learn how to communicate effectively, assess risk, ensure patient safety and escalate care appropriately. The course also reinforces the importance of working within scope of practice, documentation and clinician wellbeing.
Complimented by the Non-Clinical Management of Suicidal Patients course, this program is ideal for practices wanting a consistent, team-based approach to managing suicide-related presentations with professionalism, safety, and clarity across both general practice and specialist healthcare settings.
